Faerie Gardens and Faerie Homes

Flower Faeries need a special place to live!
Have you ever seen a faerie in your garden? No? Perhaps it is because you haven't created a pleasant little place for them to live, or at least, to visit. You can create a faerie garden in a sheltered spot in your yard, or, as I have done, in a large planting pot. Mine is round, and fairly shallow. Add some small plants, a few stones for sitting, a path of tiny gravel, and just about anything else that you think a faerie would enjoy. Mine has a lovely little arbor. Many garden centers now carry plants and accessories for faerie gardens, but it might be more fun to make your own. There are several books available with ideas, photos and sometimes directions.

There are some beautiful faerie houses on the internet....

Fairy Woodland  is a great site, but they are expensive.
Twig Wizardy will blow your mind!  Gorgeous!
Etsy has a good selection of houses and furniture.

YouTube has a number of videos with inspiration and instruction.

A few years ago I made a faerie picnic in a basket.  I made the faerie from pipe cleaners, a wooden bead, an acorn hat, and a silk flower.

I think the best faerie gardens and houses are handmade and, even better, shared with your children or grandchildren.  I just wish mine lived closer!
